American Express Yourself

Wow!  The gonads on those executives!  American Express is now sending offer letters to their "marginal" customers.  The letter invites them to get the heck out, pay their bill off, and in exchange, they will get a $300 gift card.  I do know that American Express makes their own gift cards, so I'm sure that we all know where that will come from!

If you get this letter - think about it hard!  It is VERY difficult to get credit nowadays and if you do pay and bail, you will not only lower your credit score by not having the standing credit line but you more than likely will be blacklisted by AMEX.

Oh - and if you do decide to take the money and run - make sure you spend your reward points by the end of February.  They will snatch those up from you as you walk out the door.

My comment is this:  American Express - I don't think you'd have to pay me to leave.  The behavior that your company has displayed is deplorable!
