WE the People
WE the People
Am I the only one that wants to make my new permanent residence infront of my toilet, on my knees, worshipping the porcelain god? The Dow Jones Industrial hit a 6 year low of 7,465 today. I'm sick, I'm sick, I'm sick.
And you know what else? I'm sick of pretending or even slightly pretending that this is okay! I just want to stop the world and get the heck off! Please don't step away from the computer to call the suicide prevention hotline - I'm not there yet! But, honestly, I am getting to the point where I don't even want to know whats going to happen tomorrow.
Now, to get to the controversial point - I'm tired of saying that this is all a whim of the speculators. NO, IT IS NOT!!! This slump in the market is a direct result of this extremely wasteful stimulus bill! Investors (you know, the ones that dictate the stock market) have no confidence in the market and even less in our government. There is no proof that what we have just done in this Bill will have any positive effect whatsoever. The bill is basically the government letting (most) of the people get what they want - a snuggy blanket to roll up in on those cold nights!
To my readers: I don't really care what you think about the stimulus bill. Yes, I know that we had to do something - but I am 100% sure that what WE did was not it!
WE did the wrong thing. WE through our elected politicians just screwed ourselves royally! The market is sending that message to us and to mamsy-pamsily sit around and act like this stimulus bill is not going to rock our market into oblivion is the most ridiculous thing that we have ever thought! WE voted in people who don't have the scruples to read a bill before passing it and now we are going to find out what the consequences of such choices are!
We would have been better to starve in the streets, freeze to death in the winter, and spend a good couple of decades in deep poverty than we will be for digging ourselves into this financial hole.
No, these financial woes did not start with Obama, but I will not tolerate the idea that they started with Bush either. As Americans, WE chose to live in artificial abundance. WE bought cars for prices that we shouldnt have. WE spent when we shouldn't have. WE had our priorities in the wrong place. WE worried about what the Joneses were doing, eating, wearing, and watching. WE put too much emphasis on the wrong things, and now ...
WE will all go down together.
Think what you may about me, but today, I am nearly over the edge with sickness and rage. Above all, I'm done pretending that this is at-all okay!
PS...if you have a "Plan B or C", now might be the time to throw it into high gear. You're going to need all of the headway you can get!
